Ms.
Ichen Wu was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She began to learn Chinese
painting and calligraphy at age five. Her teachers include
world-famous Chinese painters and calligraphers such as Mr. Chow
Chian-Chiu, Mrs. Liang Chen-Ying, and Mr. Huang Hua-shan. Years of
constant study and practice of the traditional Chinese art has
helped her develop a distinctive style of her own.
Ms.Wu has won numerous domestic and
international awards in the past twenty years. From 1987 to 1989,
she was the first place winner of Chinese painting and calligraphy
contest held by the city of Kaohsiung. Her art works have been
exhibited in Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
Ms. Wu came to the U.S. to study
Fine Arts and Interior Design in 1991. She graduated with honor from
University of Dayton, Ohio. From 1993 to 1997, she worked for a
renowned interior design firm in Boca Raton, Florida, and taught
Chinese painting in local Chinese schools. In 1996 she moved to
Fremont, California and started Ichen Art Studio. Ms. Wu is a
permanent member of the Chinese Art Association in San Francisco Bay
Area. |
